Our Company Background

Plexus Media is a dynamic Scottish company working in the field of accessible, digital media.

Experienced and skilled in Web, Graphic Design and Multimedia disciplines, we undertake projects ranging from simple web design and creation, through database-driven ‘dynamic’ web sites with full client-editing facilities, to highly interactive CD-Rom and DVD design and production. We also offer expert, complementary web promotion as part of our web services.

Since 1997, Plexus have used innovations within multimedia and the Web, to develop new interpretative skills, which enable a high level of client / customer interactivity.

Areas of particular speciality include:-

Virtual reality (VR) panoramic photography and the creation of virtual walk throughs

Principal Staff

Colin Dunn - Director (Graphic and Web Design)

Qualified from Grays School of Art in 1984 with a BA Hons in Graphic Design, and from Birmingham Poly with an MA in 1986 - neither have which have proved very useful even in bragging rights.

Colin Dunn is Plexus Media’s principal designer, specialising in the design and creation of graphic media for web and CD-Rom based projects, as well as associated paper-based material. He also has over 8 years experience in HTML authoring. His responsibilities include client liaison and, where required, with their existing traditional media marketing service companies. Colin was co-founder of Plexus Media in 1998.

Colin likes to think that he has an eclectic musical taste, which he persistently inflicts on the other poor blighted souls trapped in the Plexus office (well, how would you feel to be transfixed by Barbershop Quartet or Villa-Lobos one moment, then Prodigy or Silver Bullet the next?).

Cakewise he definitely prefers a Chelsea Bun, though since his wife has been looking askance at his burgeoning waistline, this indulgence has become less frequent. Ah well - back to the cycling.

David Newman - Director (Multimedia and General Design)

Qualified from Bournemouth College of Art in 1972 as a Technical Illustrator specializing in Architecture and Engineering. Later followed by Photography and Film.

David has extensive experience in the preparation, editing and creation of electronic media, together with a wide-ranging background in programming, design, filming and photography. In recent years, David has used this combination of skills to produce a number of innovative CD-Roms for a variety of market sectors. David was co-founder of Plexus Media in 1998.

David suffers Colins musical taste but manages to hold his own by occasionally singing loudly in a slightly off-key manner. He hasn't actually got round to telling the others that he is actually a professionally trained vocalist.

Dave's cake of choice is an Apple and Custard Danish (Very Continental and good for the vocal chords!)

Garve Scott-Lodge - Web Programming & Promotion

Garve joined the company in 2000 and is Plexus Media's principal web programmer, specialising in the implementation of interactive database-driven web solutions for powering modern web sites. He also has extensive and expert knowledge of ongoing web promotion techniques and has lectured on this subject for local enterprise companies. Garve has been heavily involved in many of Plexus Media's major web-based projects.

Garve secretly runs a fantasy football league from the comfort of his office chair and dreams of Ross-County lifting the European Cup. I did say it was a fantasy league!

Garve prefers a Strawberry Tart (or Ginger slice if he can get it), but is content with an Apple Tart if this is unavailable.

Jamie Pond - Web Programming

Jamie joined us at the start of 2006, replacing Marcel who had jumped ship to take over the local Post Office. He's got a degree in genetics but, for some strange reason, prefers toiling in the web hothouse that is our office to working in a gleaming hi-tech laboratory somewhere. Rather distressingly, he seems to prefer eating fresh fruit to buns, but I think we're beginning to get to him with our daily consumption of buns, cakes and biscuits.

Joy Nelson - Book Keeping

Joy's been managing our accounts and keeping us legal for the last 3 years. Particularly partial to a Dream Ring, she's also fond of a nice slab of carrot cake. She has become inured to the odd cacophony in our office - a bizarre combination of masticatory noises from the morning bun-eating session, and the latest peculiar music selection from the office MP3 collection.
