W3C Accessibility Guidelines
The W3C Web Accessibility Initiative hosts a collection of guidelines intended to make websites as accessible as possible and is widely accepted as the definitive guide on this subject. We endeavour to create websites which meet these guidelines. However, we also build our websites around our WebStarter content management system, so that our clients can edit their own sites.
We incorporate a widely used rich text editor called FCK Editor to allow editing the content on of pages, and whilst it does a very good job of writing valid HTML, it does not yet contain all the tools required to match the WAI guidelines - specifically its ability to mark up tables as the guidelines would like.
Future releases of FCK Editor will cover this area, but even so the WAI table markup guidelines are complex and difficult for the uninitiated to comply with. As such, we can't guarantee that every page on each of our clients sites will match these guidelines.
